The message of Communitism’s third major event “Europe was taken by a Bull" is that all the theories about Europe’s or the world’s future do not really matter. We are in no condition to predict all that can, or will, happen. The future can be as surreal as the myth from which the name of our continent originates. What matters is what we do, here, now, on a personal level along with the people that form our communities.
We have selected 17 projects facilitated by an international line up of artists, collectives, cultural producers and theoreticians to respond to and interact with the building. Over the next two months leading up to the final event at the end of April the building will slowly transform. Interventions, including sensory experimentation, site specific installations and participatory performances, throughout the building and neighborhood, will manifest in creative outcomes, discussions, new relationships and continuing projects. Communitism relies on active participation as we experiment with how the building can be an agent for the change we want to see. “Europe was taken by a Bull" is hosting interactive, self-directed and/or research based projects in many fields including fashion, reuse, circular economy, cooking, gardening, storytelling, movement, social practice, music, and scholarship. We selected projects with enthusiasm, energy, experience and creativity to share as we recreate our building and grow as a community of innovators.
we will work to shape the projects over the two months leading up to the final event.
